One-sentence summary

Pictures and information on 50 countries, 43 people groups and the world’s six largest religions.

Description

Window on the World helps children learn about countries and people groups. As children learn about cultures, history and the traditions of many different people, they learn how to pray for these people and their countries.

There are two pages of pictures and information for each of the 50 countries and 43 people groups.

There are also 12 pages that help explain the six largest world religions.

  • Animism
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
  • Hinduism
  • Islam
  • Judaism

Each two-page section has pictures, facts, maps and short stories. Some sections include a short language lesson. Each section shows children how to pray for others.

Considerations

  • A list of definitions gives the meaning of unknown words.
  • A map of the world shows the locations of the countries and the people groups.
  • The colored pictures show the people and where they live.
  • Many sections give interesting historical information.

Limitations

  • Some pictures and drawings may confuse people who are not picture literate.

Guidelines for Use

  • Window on the World will help young people and adults learn more about their world and that of others.
  • It could be used in churches, Sunday Schools, Bible clubs, children's church, youth groups and camps.
