Summary

Seeking input regarding the value of having forums on SPARK

In December of 2005 I was at some meetings of Vernacular Media Specialists in Manila. There was a significant interest to have a forum established where we could:

  • Share ideas
  • Discuss resource strategies
  • Discuss media related issues with others
  • Start a new topic by authoring a new reference document (forum)

Recently I have dealt with this request several times. There is a growing awareness of the need to use appropriate media as we are realizing that most of the people we're serving are oral learners. So one of the forums could be on orality.

Spark already provides the opportunity to post materials that can be of help for others. I believe that it can become more useful by adding forums.

Considerations

  • Are you willing to participate?
  • What do you want a forum to do for you?
  • What needs can this forum meet?
  • How would you like to see this forum develop?
  • Do you want them open to the public? (Then you would not need to log on.)

Please use the comment section below for your responses. (This will serve as a forum in this case.)
