The Story of the Messiah
From SPARK
One-sentence summary
This set of 6 CDs and a book for children, tells the story of Jesus, the Messiah.
Description
The Story of the Messiah - Jesus Christ of Nazareth is from the Bible. Maxus, an old man, tells the story to his eleven-year-old friend, Andrew. Maxus adds helpful information as he tells the story. It is easy to tell the difference between the Bible story and the added information.
Each writer of the first four books of the New Testament, wrote to a certain group of people.
- Matthew was written to the Jewish people.
- Mark was written for the Roman and Gentile believers.
- Luke was sent to Theophilus, an unknown person, but was written for the Gentiles.
- John told the life of Jesus and was writing to believers.
These writers did not give biographical or other information about the people. Without the that information, it might be difficult to understanding the story. However, the dialogue (talking) between Maxus and the boy gives the needed historical and cultural information. This helps make the story easy to understand.
The six CDs tell 28 events. Each one can be listened to in about 15 minutes. Different voices are used for the main speakers. Quiet music is played at the same time as people are speaking. This should not confuse the listeners.
