From SPARK
One-sentence summary
Brief booklet explaining how and why to become a believer and follower of Jesus.
Description
This booklet tells children of various ages how to become a believer in Jesus. A new believer will understand what sin is. They will want to obey Jesus. These booklets are available for children as free downloads from the Internet in the following languages.
- English
- Spanish
- Nepali
- Bengali
Considerations
- Children are taught not to make a decision until they understand what it means to believe in Jesus.
- All Bible verses are from the Good News Bible, the New International Version (NIV), the New American Standard Version, and the Living Bible (Paraphrased).
- If your printer needs the original files or a high-resolution PDF for a large number of prints, call 402-933-4095 or Email SUTLmail@aol.com
- If your language is not listed, fill out a new language translation form. The web site for this form is: http://www.stepuptolife.com/Pages/requestform.htm
Limitations
- Step 3 on page 10 explains the Ten Commandments. The fifth commandment to obey your father and mother is not well explained. God wants us to always obey parents except if they ask us to do something we know is wrong.
- Most of the drawings are culturally appropriate. The final page is not appropriate in all cultures. It shows a child kneeling to pray beside a bed.
- A curtained window and framed picture on the wall are also shown.
Guidelines for Use
- Use as a flipchart for large groups where the children can't read.
- Download a free copy of this booklet in any of the four languages listed as available.
- Use as transparencies with an overhead projector.
- Order a printed booklet (8.5" x 5.5" with 24 pages). These printed booklets are in English or Spanish. They each cost $0.69 (USD)
