This book shows how to make simple paper cutouts that are completed as the Bible story is told.

Description

Story telling is exciting for children as they watch the cutouts and listen to the stories. Each of the 40 stories from both the Old and New Testaments has a pattern to cut out with scissors. The cutting is done as the story is told.

The cutputs are:

  • The snake, the tree, and the fruit from the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3)
  • Moses in the basket (Exodus 1- 2:10)
  • Samson and his hair - which is cut off as the story is told (Judges 16)
  • The Lion from Daniel and the lion's den (Daniel 6)
  • Three wise men (Matthew 2:1-12)
  • Jairus' daughter sitting up in bed (Mark 5:21-43)
  • The fish from when Jesus fed 5,000 people (John 6:1-13)

The patterns may be copied. This lets the storyteller practice cutting and telling the story, ahead of time.

  • Older children can help cut and fold the patterns.

Limitations

  • Some people groups may not have the scissors that are needed for cutting out the patterns.

Guidelines for Use

  • In Church, Sunday School, Christian schools, schools, Bible clubs and camps
