One-sentence summary

A book of 184 Bible stories for young children.

Description

The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes was first published in 1956. Since then it has been translated into over seventy languages. The updated version book was written for children between the ages of 4 and 7 years. It has new pictures and sentence prayers at the end of each story.

Kenneth Taylor, the author, wrote these stories so children can get Bible training at an early age.

A short paragraph gives the basic theme. Scripture references are given at the end of each story. Two or three simple questions help the children understand the story. A sentence prayer completes the written page. The opposite page has a colored picture that illustrates the story.

The Old Testament part has 112 stories. The topics are from “God Makes the World” to “Daniel is Put with the Lions”. The New Testament part has seventy-two stories. They begin with “Angels Tell of Jesus' Birth”. The final story is “Paul is Safe in the Storm”.

Considerations

  • These stories would be good to record on audio cassettes. Flipchart pictures would also be needed. The stories refer to the pictures so both are needed.
  • The pictures are full page and easy to understand. They do not show parts of people or animals.
