Considerations
- Use one lesson per session. Briefly review the story for any new children that come each day. Show key pictures while reviewing the story.
- Each chapter has pronunciation guides and explanations for new words or important Muslim terms and beliefs. These explanations will help children understand something about the Muslim religion.
- The story focuses on the North African boys and the culture of that area. The boys are pictured correctly, and the foreign woman is lighter-skinned and has yellow hair.
Limitations
- Many pictures show just parts of people or the scene. This will cause confusion to children who are not visually literate. Explanations will be needed before reading the story.
