Description
Jezus Messias (Jesus Messiah) is a comic book by the Dutch writer/artist Willem de Vink. The booklet tells about the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. The first five books of the New Testament are used to tell the story.
The inside front cover lists the people in the story. The next page tells why Jesus is the Messiah. Next is a map of Israel (including geographical information) during the time of Jesus. The story begins with John the Baptist baptizing Jesus in the Jordan River. It ends with His final commands to His apostles. The final pages tell how to become a believer in Jesus.
A workbook Jezus Messias Dichtbij (Jesus Messiah Close-Up) has 34 Bible studies from the comic book. The workbook helps children better understand who Jesus is. It shows them how to believe in Jesus.
Considerations
- The text is mainly from the New Testament.
- The drawings are multi-cultural. The pictures of people would be useful in most cultures.
- More than thirty translations are available in languages spoken in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
- A few of those language translations in West Africa are: Benin (Fon, and Idaash) and Togo (Kabiya, Nawdin, Gangam.)
- This comic book and workbook has been used with adults in Africa.
- Workers in Togo and Benin have digitized the pictures in the comic book.
