Internal Notes Film

Jan. 23, 2006 mkb copied Original into Internal Notes: There are two types of visuals which involve film—still photography and movie photography. Still photography can produce negatives from which photos can be made or it can produce slides. Slides require a viewer or a projector in order to see.

Movie film (usually 35mm film) contains both the picture and the audio tract imbedded on one side. To view a movie requires you to use a movie projector which projects the picture and plays back the audio.

Movies on film are rapidly being replaced by videos on tape, VCD or DVD. In fact most movies produced on film are converted to video. Digital photography is rapidly replacing negatives and slides. Slide projectors have almost totally been replaced by digital projectors.
