Description

From Website

Effective communication of the Gospel in a cross-cultural setting can be challenging due to differences in language and culture. Presenting the Gospel in a contextual way is opening up people's hearts, and they are responding to the message of salvation. This video is a compilation of interviews from field workers (among Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu peoples) who talk about the principles, the forms, and the benefits of contextualization. This DVD is a great training tool for Bible schools, mission training seminars, and orientation for short and long term workers.

Considerations

“Contextualization is about the heart of God.” This is an excellent short video on the need for contextualization. It is not something new but goes back to the root of the church. We are commissioned to make disciples of all nations and to teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded. So we need to stay true to the Word, but it needs to be presented in a culturally appropriate way. Examples and testimonies are given of how contextualization has resulted in major changes in the receptivity of the Gospel message. This would be a great introduction for a seminar or teaching on contextualization.
