Description

Children will learn that many mysterious Bible events are part of history. This book examines those mysteries and discusses their meaning.

The Bible shows how the people of Israel saw God at work among themselves.

Considerations

  • The book is hardbound.
  • At the end of the book are related Bible verses for the children to read. These will only be useful for children who have Bibles and can read.

Limitations

  • The section titled "Magic and Miracles" may not be appropriate in cultures where magic is considered evil.
  • Most of the illustrations show parts people and scenes. These will need to be explained to children who are not picture literate.
  • Some illustrations are shown from unusual views. These may need to be explained to children who are not picture literate.
  • The section titled A Lasting Hope, includes a photograph of a woman from India. She is sitting next to her dead relative and mourning. In some cultures this may not be appropriate for children or adults.
  • Much of the text is symbolic and mysterious. This will be difficult for most children to understand.

Guidelines for Use

  • For children 9-14 years old.
  • As a flipchart with an audio book.
  • As a filmstrip with an audio book.
  • In schools and Christian schools.
